A bandeira tarifária que será aplicada nas contas de luz no mês de junho será a verde, o que significa que não haverá custo extra para o consumidor. Segundo a Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel), o retorno da bandeira verde foi possível pelo aumento das chuvas nos reservatórios das hidrelétricas em maio e pela perspectiva de redução do consumo de energia elétrica no país.
Desde abril, a bandeira estava vermelha, o que representa um acréscimo de R$ 3 para cada 100 quilowatts-hora (kWh) consumidos.
A previsão da Aneel era que a bandeira tarifária vermelha patamar 1 continuasse em vigor até o fim do período seco, que vai até novembro.
Como funcionam as bandeiras tarifárias
O sistema de bandeiras tarifárias foi criado em 2015 como forma de recompor os gastos extras com a utilização de energia de usinas termelétricas, que é mais cara do que a de hidrelétricas. A cor da bandeira é impressa na conta de luz (vermelha, amarela ou verde) e indica o custo da energia em função das condições de geração.
Quando chove menos, por exemplo, os reservatórios das hidrelétricas ficam mais vazios e é preciso acionar mais termelétricas para garantir o suprimento de energia no país. Nesse caso, a bandeira fica amarela ou vermelha, de acordo com o custo de operação das termelétricas acionadas.
Segundo a Aneel, o sistema de bandeiras tarifárias sinaliza o custo real da energia gerada, possibilitando aos consumidores o uso consciente.
