Presidente do STF lança no ES programa Cidadania nos Presídios

O presidente do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e do Conselho Nacional de Justiça (CNJ), ministro Ricardo Lewandowski, lançou hoje no Espírito Santo o programa Cidadania nos Presídios. O programa pretende reduzir o número de presos nas cadeias brasileiras garantindo aos detentos um acesso mais apropriado à progressão de regime e a mecanismos de reiserção na sociedade.

Dividido em três eixos, sendo o primeiro, o eixo processual, que altera a gestão de processos para priorizar os casos de indulto e comutação de pena; o segundo, o eixo que visa a melhoria na qualidade dos presídios; por final, o terceiro, que cuida da reinserção social do detento. O programa “Cidadania nos Presídios” é visto pelo ministro Ricardo Lewandowski como uma forma eficaz de reduzir a população carcerária do Brasil, a terceira maior do mundo.

O lançamento aconteceu no Complexo Penitenciário de Viana, onde o ministro vistoriou uma das galerias do Presídio de Segurança Máxima, PSMA2, conversou com presos e assinou alvará de soltura.

Também estiveram no lançamento , o governador do Espírito Santo, Paulo Hartung e o presidente do Tribunal de Justiça do Espírito Santo (TJES), desembargador Annibal de Rezende Lima. Diversas autoridades também participaram do evento, entre elas, o secretário estadual de Justiça, Eugênio Ricas, e o secretário especial de Direitos Humanos do Governo Federal, Rogério Sottili.

Em seu discurso o presidente do STF explicou que o Espírito Santo foi escolhido para o lançamento do programa ”Cidadania nos Presídios”, porque aqui foram implantadas políticas para garantir dignidade e inclusão aos detentos que estão em poder do Estado.
