A Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel) registrou, em abril, um total de 242,3 milhões de linhas de celulares ativas no país. O número representa uma queda de 5,5% em relação a abril do ano passado, ou 14 milhões de linhas. Entre março e abril, a queda foi 455 mil linhas, ou 0,19%.
A tecnologia 4G continua crescendo, com adição de 39,18 milhões de linhas nos últimos 12 meses, (112,31%). As linhas de dados para aplicações máquina-máquina (M2M) também apresentaram crescimento de 15,38%. As outras tecnologias apresentaram redução no número de linhas.
O número de linhas de celulares começou a cair há cerca de dois anos no país. Em maio de 2015, foram registrados 284,1 milhões de celulares e, desde então, o número começou a apresentar redução.
Segundo a Anatel, a queda do número de celulares é consequência da redução da tarifa de interconexão, que é o valor cobrado entre empresas fixas e móveis para a realização das ligações e do valor de remuneração de uso de rede, praticado entre as operadoras de celulares. Isso faz com que as pessoas não precisem ter mais de um chip para falar com números de outras operadoras. A desaceleração econômica também contribuiu para encolhimento da base de acessos móveis, segundo a agência.
Banda larga
Por outro lado, o número de acessos ao serviço de banda larga fixa continua crescendo. Nos últimos doze meses, a banda larga fixa teve uma adição de 1,39 milhão clientes, o que representa um aumento de 5,36%. Entre março e abril deste ano, o aumento foi 0,27%.
Os maiores crescimentos percentuais registrados entre março e abril foram no Ceará, com aumento de 2,31% no número de clientes; no Pará, com 2,23%; e no Maranhão, com acréscimo de 1,87%. Nos últimos doze meses, todos os estados apresentaram crescimento.
