Na série sem ajuste sazonal, no confronto com igual mês do ano anterior, o setor apontou queda de 7,3%. Com esses resultados, a taxa acumulada no ano ficou em -7,3% e em 12 meses, -5,2%.

O agregado especial das Atividades turísticas apresentou recuo de 11,0%, na comparação com o mês imediatamente anterior.
Em termos de composição da taxa global de volume, sem ajuste sazonal, as contribuições dos segmentos foram as seguintes: Serviços profissionais, administrativos e complementares, com -3,2 pp; Serviços prestados às famílias, com -1,9 pp; Transportes, serviços auxiliares dos transportes e correio, com -1,1 pp; Outros serviços, com -0,9 pp e Serviços de informação e comunicação, com -0,2 pp.
A receita nominal em janeiro registrou variação de -1,0% em relação a dezembro, na série livre de influências sazonais, e a variação sem ajuste sazonal ficou em -2,0%, na comparação com o mesmo mês do ano anterior. A taxa acumulada no ano, sem ajuste sazonal, ficou em -2,0% e, em 12 meses, -0,2%.
Mato Grosso (31,1%), Alagoas (13,8%) e Piauí (12,6%) registraram crescimentos nos serviços em janeiro frente a dezembro
Os resultados regionais do setor de serviços, em janeiro, mostraram as maiores variações positivas de volume, em relação à dezembro, no Mato Grosso (31,1%), Alagoas (13,8%) e Piauí (12,6%). As maiores variações negativas foram observadas em Roraima e Amapá (ambas com -13,1%), Sergipe (-12,8%) e Maranhão (-8,1%).
Na comparação com janeiro de 2016, as maiores variações positivas foram registradas em Alagoas (14,7%), Piauí (8,1%) e Ceará (2,6%). As maiores variações negativas foram registradas em Rondônia (-25,6%), Tocantins (-24,5%) e Amapá (-24,4%).
Pernambuco (16,1%) e Minas Gerais (12,1%) apresentaram maiores altas nas atividades turísticas
Os resultados de volume de serviços, na comparação janeiro 2017/dezembro 2016, segundo as Unidades da Federação selecionadas, por ordem de variação, foram: Pernambuco (16,1%), Minas Gerais (12,1%), Santa Catarina (5,5%), Bahia (4,7%), Goiás (4,3%), Espírito Santo (3,7%) e Ceará (2,5%). As variações negativas foram registradas em São Paulo (-28,6%), Distrito Federal (-21,4%), Rio Grande do Sul (-8,9%), Rio de Janeiro (-4,0%) e Paraná (-1,5%).
Na comparação com o mesmo mês do ano anterior, as variações positivas foram as seguintes: Pernambuco (19,8,%), Goiás (11,9%), Minas Gerais (5,7%) e Bahia (4,1%). As variações negativas foram as seguintes: Distrito Federal (-34,9%), São Paulo (-23,2%), Rio de Janeiro (-13,6%), Espírito Santo (-9,4%), Rio Grande do Sul (-7,6%), Ceará (-6,4%) e Paraná (-5,1%).
