Sambista Almir Guineto morre no Rio aos 70 anos

O sambista e cantor Almir Guineto, 70 anos, fundador do grupo Fundo de Quintal, morreu nesta sexta (5) no Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho, da UFRJ, no Fundão. Ele estava internado desde março para tratar de uma pneumonia e problemas renais crônicos, provocados pelo diabetes. O artista foi um dos grandes representantes do chamado samba “de raiz”.

Nascido e criado no morro do Salgueiro, na Tijuca, zona norte do Rio, teve contato direto com o samba desde a infância, já que havia vários músicos na família. Seu pai era violonista e integrava o grupo Fina Flor do Samba. A mãe, conhecida como Dona Fia, era costureira e uma das principais figuras de destaque da Escola de Samba Acadêmicos do Salgueiro.

Carreira

Nos anos 1970, Almir já era mestre de bateria e um dos diretores do Salgueiro e frequentador do Bloco Carnavalesco Cacique de Ramos. Nessa época inovou ao introduzir nos pagodes o banjo adaptado com um braço de cavaquinho.

Mais tarde, nos anos 1980, participou da fundação do grupo Fundo de Quintal, que saiu da formação de sambistas do Cacique de Ramos. Depois da gravação do disco Samba é no Fundo de Quintal, partiu para a carreira solo.

Como compositor também fez várias músicas de sucesso interpretadas por Beth Carvalho, Zeca Pagodinho, Jorge Aragão, entre outros.
