II Simpósio Cardiovascular será realizado no Hospital Metropolitano (Serra) neste sábado (6).

coração22Uma pessoa morre a cada dois minutos vítima de doenças cardiovasculares no Brasil, segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), o que situa o País entre os dez com maior índice de vítimas em decorrência desses problemas.

A presença da aterosclerose, ou seja, o acúmulo de gordura em excesso nas artérias, é uma das principais características que os males do coração têm em comum. Ela dificulta a circulação ateroclerosesanguínea e, assim, pode dar origem a enfermidades como a trombose e o aneurisma ou acarretar um infarto, se interromper totalmente a oxigenação do órgão.

Sua identificação é feita por meio de um exame chamado cateterismo: o médico insere um tubo plástico fino (catéter) em um vaso sanguíneo até alcançar o coração, através de um pequeno corte – geralmente feito na virilha – e guiado por imagens transmitidas por raios X, conseguindo avaliá-lo.

A correção também acontece por meio de um procedimento semelhante, a angioplastia. Nela, o catéter transporta uma prótese, chamada stent, que substitui a parte prejudicada da artéria.

Simpósio

Para manter médicos, acadêmicos e profissionais da área de cardiologia atualizados sobre as tecnologias utilizadas nesses procedimentos, o Hospital Metropolitano, localizado na Serra, promove o II Simpósio Cardiovascular, no próximo dia 6 de agosto.

“Este evento tem como objetivo capacitá-los, por meio de palestras e de discussões de casos clínicos e de pesquisas, para prestar uma assistência mais segura e adequada aos pacientes”, informou Antenorio Aiolfi, cardiologista do Hospital Metropolitano.

A programação terá início às 9h e término às 12h, com a participação dos médicos José de Ribamar Costa Junior, do Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia (SP) e José Airton Arruda, do Hospital Meridional, além da equipe de cardiologia do Hospital Metropolitano.
