31 de maio é o Dia Mundial sem Tabaco

 

Nesta terça-feira (31) Unidades de Saúde de toda a Grande Vitória realizam ações pelo Dia Mundial sem Tabaco.  A idéia é informar à população sobre os riscos do uso do cigarro. Serão realizadas atividades como: distribuição de material educativo, realização do Teste de Fagerstrom (avaliar grau de dependência dos fumantes), inclusão na lista dos pacientes que desejarem parar de fumar e realização de mini-palestras.

O tabagismo é uma doença epidêmica resultante da dependência de nicotina e classificado pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) no grupo dos transtornos mentais e de comportamento decorrentes do uso de substâncias psicoativas.

Dia Mundial Sem Tabaco

No Dia Mundial Sem Tabaco deste ano, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) fará um apelo aos países para adotarem a padronização de embalagens de produtos de tabaco. A medida propõe a restrição do uso de cores, elementos gráficos e informações promocionais nos maços de cigarro.

Segundo a OMS, a padronização de embalagens é importante para reduzir a atratividade dos produtos de tabaco, restringir o uso da embalagem como forma de promoção e publicidade, limitar rotulagens enganosas, além de aumentar a eficiência das advertências sanitárias.

Principais doenças causadas pelo cigarro:

– Câncer de pulmão

– Câncer de boca

– Câncer de laringe

– Câncer de estômago

– Leucemia

– Infarto do miocárdio

– Enfisema nos pulmões

– Impotência sexual

– Bronquite

– Trombose vascular

– Redução da capacidade de aprendizado e memorização (principalmente em crianças e adolescentes)

– Catarata

– Aneurisma arterial

– Rinite alérgica

– Úlcera do aparelho digestivo

– Infecções respiratórias

– Angina

 

Além disso,  estudos mostram que o tabagismo é responsável por:

200 mil mortes por ano no Brasil (23 pessoas por hora);

25% das mortes causadas por doença coronariana;

45% das mortes causadas por doença coronariana na faixa abaixo dos 60 anos;

45% das mortes por infarto agudo do miocárdio na faixa abaixo de 65 anos;

85% das mortes causadas por bronquite e enfisema;

90% dos casos de câncer no pulmão (entre os 10% restantes, 1/3 é de fumantes passivos);

30% das mortes decorrentes de outros tipos de câncer tabaco-relacionados (boca, laringe, faringe, esôfago, pâncreas, rim, bexiga e colo do útero);

25% das doenças vasculares (derrame cerebral, trombose).

 

O tabagismo ainda pode causar:

– impotência sexual no homem;

– complicações na gravidez;

– aneurismas arteriais;

– úlcera do aparelho digestivo;

– infecções respiratórias;

 

Porém, ao parar de fumar o risco de ter essas doenças vai diminuindo gradativamente e o organismo do ex-fumante vai se restabelecendo.

 

Serra

Na Serra, a Unidade Regional de Novo Horizonte e a Unidade de Atenção Primária a Saúde de São Diogo, estão realizando programações de conscientização dos malefícios que o cigarro provoca no organismo. As unidades funcionam de 7 às 17 horas.

Atualmente os grupos para pessoas que querem parar de fumar acontecem nas Unidades Regionais de Boa Vista, Novo Horizonte, Serra Sede, Feu Rosa, Jacaraípe e a Unidade Básica de Saúde de Jardim Carapina. Todas as unidades de saúde do município estão aptas a atender os pacientes que tenham interesse em entrar no programa Anti Tabagismo. Em seguida, as demais unidades implantarão o serviço, gradativamente.

Quem passar pelo Shopping Vitória, nesta terça-feira (31), vai receber orientações sobre os perigos do cigarro, além de tirar dúvidas no “Mutirão de Combate ao Fumo”.

Nesta segunda (30), a equipe do Programa de Controle do Tabagismo da Secretaria de Estado da Saúde (Sesa) esteve no Palácio da Fonte Grande, em Vitória, demonstrando como a fumaça do cigarro é prejudicial. Foram realizados testes para verificar o teor de monóxido de carbono presente no corpo do fumante ou de um fumante passivo. A equipe também fez a ação no Edifício Fábio Ruschi, na capital, durante a manhã.

 

Tratamento

 

No Estado, o tratamento ao fumante é ofertado em mais de 50 municípios capixabas, por meio de uma equipe multidisciplinar. O paciente que procura a unidade de saúde municipal participa das sessões em grupo e, dependendo do grau de dependência, é disponibilizada a medicação (adesivos, gomas, pastilhas e bupropiona).

A pessoa que fuma fica dependente da nicotina.
