Bandas de Congo festejam Nossa Senhora

Nesta segunda (24) acontece a tradicional levada do mastro de Nossa Senhora da Penha até o Campinho do Convento pelas Bandas de Congo.

De acordo com o mestre da Banda de Congo Beatos de São Benedito, Leonardo Osorio Nunes dos Santos, mais conhecido como Naio, o mastro vai ser carregado por 40 alunos da Escola de Aprendizes de Marinheiros do Espirito Santos (EMAES) durante todo o trajeto.

“O cortejo vai sair da Praça Almirante Tamandaré, em frente à igreja do Rosário, passando pelas principais ruas da Prainha. No campinho do Convento, frei Paulo vai dar as bênçãos aos conguistas, tambores, bandas e ao mastro”, disse o mestre.

Após a benção, os romeiros descem do campinho com o mastro para ser fincado em frente à estátua de Frei Pedro Palácios, localizada na antiga entrada do Convento.

Para o subsecretário Municipal de Cultura, Eliomar Carlos Mazoco, a tradição das bandas de congo de participarem da festa de Nossa Senhora da Penha, principalmente na missa de segunda-feira no campinho, é centenária. Ele contou que existem fotos do inicio do século passado de bandas de congo fincando mastros na região da Prainha de Vila Velha.

“Esta é uma tradição muito importante e a prefeitura tem uma expectativa positiva da iniciativa das bandas estarem vindo prestigiar Nossa Senhora da Penha”, completou.

A romaria dos conguistas é uma realização da Associação Cultural Esportiva e Recreativa Beatos do Espirito Santo (ACERBES).

Na sexta  (21) ocorreu a cerimônia de amarração de duas mil fitas no mastro, realizada por mulheres no ateliê do artista plástico Celso Adolfo.
