Após um mês do início do plano de contingência no abastecimento de água para a Grande Vitória foram economizados 1,65 bilhão de litros de água, suficiente para abastecer a cidade de Serra por 37,5 dias, ou 90 mil residências por um mês. O rodízio permanece em vigor nas regiões abastecidas pelo Rio Santa Maria da Vitória. Nas áreas atendidas pelo Rio Jucu, o fornecimento de água está sendo realizado regularmente pela Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento (Cesan). A lista de bairros e os dias de rodízio podem ser consultados no site da Cesan.
Nesta quarta-feira (19), devido a uma queda na vazão do rio Santa Maria da Vitória – ocorrida no último fim de semana – a Cesan precisou interromper o abastecimento no mesmo dia para o município de Serra, parte de Cariacica, região continental de Vitória e de Praia Grande, em Fundão. Foi necessário realizar uma manobra operacional na barragem de Rio Bonito, que está sendo utilizada para regular a vazão do Rio Santa Maria da Vitória. A medida deve surtir efeito nas próximas 24 horas e o abastecimento volta a ser realizado em sistema de rodízio.
Ao todo, desde o início da operação do plano de contingência, a Cesan obteve uma redução de 18% no consumo de água no sistema Santa Maria da Vitória, que abastece todo o município de Serra, a zona norte de Vitória, alguns bairros de Cariacica e Praia Grande, em Fundão.
Com o plano de contingência, aliado à economia feita pela população, a Cesan tem conseguido controlar o nível da Represa Rio Bonito, que se mantém em 25% do seu volume.
O rodízio no abastecimento de água no Sistema Santa Maria da Vitória abrange uma população de 580 mil pessoas, residentes em 156 bairros. Ao todo, são 193.445 unidades consumidoras na Grande Vitória. Para operar o rodízio, a Cesan agrupou os bairros em sete regiões distintas e a cada dia da semana uma região tem o fornecimento de água suspenso por um prazo de 24 horas, sempre a partir das 12 horas. Passadas 24 horas de interrupção, o sistema pode retornar ao normal em até 24 horas.
Nas áreas abastecidas pelo Rio Jucu, o rodízio no abastecimento foi suspenso no último dia 7 e se mantém sob monitoramento contínuo. A medida foi tomada pela Cesan devido à melhora nas condições do rio, o que permitiu o abastecimento regular, reduzindo o impacto para a população, principalmente no fornecimento de água para hospitais, postos de saúde e escolas. Porém, a Cesan alerta a população sobre a gravidade da situação e solicita a redução do consumo em decorrência do risco de piora do cenário.
