Pelo menos 11 países suspenderam temporária e integralmente a importação de carne brasileira e seus derivados, após vir a público as suspeitas de irregularidades pontuais na fiscalização do setor. Já a União Europeia e outros três países optaram por embargar apenas as compras dos 21 frigoríficos alvos da Operação Carne Fraca, deflagrada pela Polícia Federal na última sexta-feira (17), ou de parte dessas empresas.
Segundo o Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Mapa), até a deflagração da operação policial, as carnes bovina, de frango e suína nacionais e seus derivados eram exportados para mais de 150 países. A média de embarque diário do Brasil para o exterior até então era de US$ 63 milhões. Quatro dias após a notícia da suspeita de que ao menos 21 frigoríficos podem ter colocado à venda carne adulterada e produtos irregulares, o total embarcado na última terça-feira (21) caiu a apenas US$ 74 mil.
Segundo o Mapa, até a noite de ontem (22), os seguintes países tinham suspendido temporariamente ou desautorizado o desembarque de carne e produtos cárneos procedentes do Brasil: China; Chile; Egito; Argélia; Jamaica; Trinidad Tobago; Panamá; Catar; México e Bahamas, além de Hong Kong, que tem o status de Região Administrativa Especial da China.
Caso a caso
No caso do Chile e do Egito, a proibição deve vigorar pelo menos até que as autoridades brasileiras forneçam esclarecimentos considerados satisfatórios. A Jamaica, além de suspender a importação, determinou que todos os produtos de carne brasileiros já disponíveis no mercado interno sejam recolhidos pelos produtores e distribuidores.
O Catar adotou uma paralisação do desembaraço aduaneiro, que vigorará até que os resultados dos testes por amostragem sejam conhecidos. No caso do México, que, de acordo com o Mapa, consome apenas frango brasileiro, o órgão sanitário nacional determinou uma suspensão preventiva.
O Japão adotou uma suspensão parcial temporária, que proibiu a entrada no país de qualquer produto proveniente dos 21 frigoríficos sob suspeita. A África do Sul também suspendeu temporariamente as compras de seis exportadores brasileiros. Já a União Europeia deixou de comprar aves e suínos de três plantas investigadas pela PF, além de carne bovina e derivados de uma planta – decisão que também já havia sido adotada individualmente pela Suíça.
Os Estados Unidos, o Vietnã e a Arábia Saudita reforçaram a fiscalização sanitária sobre os produtos brasileiros. De acordo com a embaixada brasileira em Washington, o receio motivou as autoridades americanas a determinar que 100% das amostras de produtos cárneos brasileiros sejam inspecionadas. O Mapa, no entanto, já afirmou que nenhuma dos locais de produção sob suspeita enviou carne aos EUA.
A Coreia do Sul, por sua vez, havia ampliado o percentual de amostras inspecionadas de 1% para 15%, mas voltou atrás na decisão na última terça-feira (21). E Israel e Barbados pediram ao governo brasileiro mais informações, antes de anunciar qualquer medida.
Interditados
No Brasil, os três frigoríficos interditados pelo Ministério da Agricultura pertencem às empresas BRF e Peccin. Na unidade da BRF de Mineiros (GO), é feito o abate de frangos, e nas plantas da Peccin em Jaraguá do Sul (SC) e em Curitiba (PR) são produzidos embutidos (mortadela e salsicha).
