Proibido catar e comercializar caranguejo até 3 de abril

Repórter Capixaba Espírito Santo, Grande Vitória, Interior 212

A comercialização, a cata, o armazenamento e o consumo do caranguejo-uçá estão proibidos da próxima terça (28) até o dia 3 de abril em todo o Espírito Santo, inclusive proveniente de outros estados. É o terceiro e último período do ciclo reprodutivo do crustáceo em 2017, a andada.

Ainda este ano, nos meses de outubro e novembro, começa o período de defeso, que é a troca da carapaça do crustáceo. Conforme determina a portaria nº 52/2003 do Ibama, o crustáceo volta a ser protegido por legislação federal e os infratores, além de multas, poderão até ser presos.

Abordagens

Nos dois primeiros períodos do ciclo reprodutivo do crustáceo – 28 de janeiro a 4 de fevereiro e 27 de fevereiro a 5 de março, equipes da Educação Ambiental da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente (Semmam) realizaram uma intensa programação de visitas e abordagens educativas nos quiosques da Curva da Jurema e Camburi, bares, restaurantes e também em escolas de ensino infantil e fundamental da Grande Goiabeiras.

Ao todo, foram abordadas 3.480 pessoas e visitadas seis escolas da rede municipal de ensino. Nas abordagens, os técnicos orientaram a respeito da importância de não acontecerem a cata e a comercialização dos crustáceos durante a andada, visando, principalmente, proteger a espécie, excluindo riscos de extinção.

“O objetivo é sensibilizar para que o caranguejo possa continuar a existir e a sua reprodução não sofra impactos”, destacou a bióloga e educadora ambiental da Semmam Juliana Conde.

Quem for flagrado capturando, comercializando ou consumindo o animal durante a andada será encaminhado para a Delegacia de Crimes Ambientais e sofrerá as penalidades, que podem ser pagamento de multas e até prisão.

Acasalamento

A andada é a época em que o crustáceo faz o acasalamento e a desova, o que o torna uma presa fácil para os catadores. Por isso, é necessário respeitar o tempo de reprodução para que o ecossistema manguezal não seja prejudicado.

Na andada, é proibido capturar, manter em cativeiro, fazer o transporte, beneficiamento, armazenamento e consumir ou comercializar o caranguejo uçá. A proibição está embasada na portaria Seama nº 012-R, de 28 de dezembro de 2016.

Denúncias

Denúncias podem ser feitas no Fala Vitória 156 e também na Polícia Ambiental, por meio do telefone 3636-0173, e no Iema, pelo telefone 3636-2597.
