O professor capixaba de Ciências e Química Wemerson da Silva Nogueira, da Escola Estadual Antônio dos Santos Neves, localizada em Boa Esperança, foi o vencedor do título “Educador do Ano” de 2016, da 19ª edição do Prêmio Educador Nota 10. O professor venceu com o projeto “Filtrando as lágrimas do Rio Doce”, que fala sobre a contaminação do Rio Doce com o rompimento da barragem de Mariana, em Minas Gerais. A premiação foi realizada nesta segunda-feira (17), em São Paulo.
“Fico muito honrado em representar o Espírito Santo nesse acontecimento. É a primeira vez que o Estado tem um professor selecionado entre os 10 melhores do Brasil escolhidos pelos organizadores do evento. Vejo que verdadeiramente o nosso projeto tem um significado não só na vida dos alunos, da comunidade, mas de todo o país. Dedico essa vitória aos meus alunos, aos moradores de Regência e a todos os professores. A prioridade da minha vida
agora é transformar o mundo, formando cidadãos globais, capazes de transformar a educação brasileira. Juntos podemos muito mais”, destacou Wemerson, em um discurso emocionado.
Wemerson era um dos dez finalistas do Prêmio Educador Nota 10. Este ano, a premiação teve como tema “Na educação de
qualidade todos aprendem juntos” e premiou projetos de diferentes segmentos. Os finalistas representaram sete estados: Espírito Santo, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Goiás, Amazonas, São Paulo e Rondônia. Cada um deles recebeu um vale-presente de R$ 15 mil, além de uma assinatura da revista ‘Nova Escola Digital’. Todos os dez selecionados tiveram seus projetos apresentados no evento.
Wemerson, que ganhou o Educador do Ano, ganhou, além dos itens acima, mais R$ 5 mil. Este valor também é dado à escola na qual o vencedor trabalha. O troféu foi entregue pelo ministro da Educação, Mendonça Filho, ao professor capixaba.
Também estiveram presentes na premiação a subsecretária da Educação Básica e Profissional, Maria José Angeli de Paula, a superintendente regional de Educação de Nova Venécia, Mardel Borges Colombi Sebim, a diretora da Escola Estadual Antônio dos Santos Neves, Adriana Bonatto Merlo, e a professora Carmem Machado, que foi vencedora do prêmio Educador Nota 10 em 2013.
Projeto “Filtrando as lágrimas do Rio Doce”
O professor capixaba escolheu um tema atual para despertar o interesse de seus alunos do 8º ano do Ensino Fundamental: a contaminação do Rio Doce após o rompimento da barragem em Mariana. Buscando contribuir de alguma forma para o bem-estar das populações impactadas, o professor promoveu o estudo dos impactos socioambientais por meio da leitura de notícias, entrevistas na comunidade e análises da água.
De posse dos resultados das análises, Wemerson contextualizou o estudo da tabela periódica e seus elementos. Também desenvolveu uma metodologia que tornasse sua leitura mais acessível aos alunos que, assim, fixavam melhor as características de cada elemento químico. Neste percurso, ele realizou vários encontros para apresentar os resultados de seus estudos à população de Regência, região impactada pelo desastre ambiental. O projeto foi concluído com o desenvolvimento de um filtro com areia, feito pelos próprios alunos e distribuído à população.
“Aproveitei o fato do rompimento da barragem que afetou nosso Estado e a contaminação do Rio Doce, para levar para dentro da sala de aula, visando à melhoria da aprendizagem da tabela periódica. Foi uma oportunidade de preparar meus alunos para pesquisas científicas. Realizamos um planejamento que foi da aula de campo até a coleta da água do Rio Doce e da lama”, explicou Wemerson.
Para realizar as pesquisas, o professor fez parceria com a Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Ufes) e com empresas de tratamento de água, para que os estudantes pudessem entender como funciona as análises de laboratório. Ao todo foram 40 dias de análise.
Prêmio Educador Nota 10
Criado em 1998, o Prêmio Educador Nota 10 reconhece professores da Educação Infantil e do Ensino Fundamental e também gestores escolares de todo o país. Aproximadamente 3.000 educadores, professores, gestores escolares e coordenadores pedagógicos, de diversos segmentos de ensino, inscrevem seu trabalho a cada edição do Prêmio em diferentes áreas de conhecimento.
Uma comissão selecionadora, composta por profissionais da Educação, especialistas nas diversas disciplinas, analisa todos os trabalhos recebidos e, entre eles, são escolhidos os 50 finalistas e entre os finalistas são escolhidos os dez Educadores Nota 10. Nessas 18 edições, foram reconhecidos 191 educadores, entre professores e gestores, e entregues aproximadamente 2,4 milhões de reais em prêmios.
Os trabalhos premiados são ideias simples e corajosas que mostram a importância da aprendizagem de crianças e jovens e a tarefa de mantê-los numa boa escola, trabalho esse indispensável para a transformação deste país numa nação melhor e mais justa.
O Prêmio Educador Nota 10 é uma iniciativa da Globo e do Grupo Abril, organizado pela Fundação Victor Civita em parceria com a Fundação Roberto Marinho, que busca valorizar e disseminar experiências pedagógicas inspiradoras em todo o Brasil.
