Novo piso do Ginásio Jones dos Santos Neves será entregue neste sábado

O Ginásio Jones dos Santos Neves (DED), em Bento Ferreira está com piso novo e começa a ser usado pela população já neste sábado (11). Além da melhoria das áreas danificadas no piso, esquadrias foram substituídas. O piso flutuante em madeira é exclusivo no Estado e o único aprovado pela Confederação Brasileira de Basquete para jogos oficiais dessa modalidade.

“Estamos entregando o piso novo e ocupando o espaço com escolinhas para crianças e adolescentes, além de várias atividades esportivas”, disse o secretário de Esportes e Lazer, Wallace Valente.

Uso da quadra

A solicitação de uso do Ginásio do DED pode ser feita por clubes, associações ou federações para treinamento e jogos. Para isso, devem enviar ofício ao secretário de Esportes e Lazer.

Escolinhas

Para dar início à ocupação do espaço, a Secretaria Municipal de Esportes e Lazer (Semesp) está com inscrições abertas para as modalidades handebol e futsal.

Podem se inscrever crianças e adolescentes de 7 a 17 anos. Os interessados devem comparecer ao DED, no período da tarde, com foto 3×4, certidão de nascimento, comprovante escolar e comprovante de residência.

“É mais uma oportunidade para crianças e adolescentes praticarem esportes na nossa cidade. Vamos utilizar o ginásio para envolvê-los com esporte e atividade física”, disse o secretário de Esportes e Lazer, Wallace Valente.

As aulas de futsal acontecerão às segundas, quartas e sextas, e as de handebol, às terças e quintas. As aulas terão início após o preenchimento das vagas.

História

Construído na década de 50 e palco de eventos locais, estaduais, nacionais e até internacionais, o DED foi tomado dos estudantes no período da ditadura militar. Com a abertura política, na segunda metade dos anos 80, houve a retomada do ginásio pelos estudantes.

No entanto, a devolução do espaço não garantiu a estrutura de antes e, com o tempo, o espaço se deteriorou e caiu em decadência. A Prefeitura de Vitória se responsabilizou pelo espaço e, desde então, faz a administração de toda a estrutura.
