Morcego com vírus da raiva aparece em Jardim da Penha e Prefeitura vacina cães e gatos no bairro

A equipe do Centro de Vigilância em Saúde Ambiental (CVSA)  da Prefeitura de Vitória diagnosticou um novo caso de morcego com vírus da raiva no bairro Jardim da Penha. O animal foi encontrado na avenida Luiz Manoel Velloso.

Em função do caso, a equipe do CVSA realizará um bloqueio ao redor do local de foco, especificamente na área de Jardim da Penha e alguns quarteirões da Mata da Praia, inseridos em um raio de 500 metros. Serão vacinados todos os animais (cães e gatos) como medida preventiva para garantir o reforço na imunidade. A vacinação acontecerá após o carnaval: na quinta (2) e sexta (3), das 7h30 às 13h30.

Agentes de combate a endemias e auxiliares de veterinária do CVSA farão visitas às residências dos donos dos animais. Se necessário, a vacinação continuará na segunda (6).

“Caso encontre algum morcego vivo ou morto, em situação anormal, como caído no chão, pendurado em janelas, cortinas, em cima da cama, à luz do dia ou que adentre a residência, não toque no animal e ligue imediatamente para o telefone 156, solicitando o recolhimento. Se possível, capture o animal sem tocá-lo, utilizando panos, caixas de papel e baldes ou mantendo-o preso em ambiente fechado até que a equipe do CVSA realize o recolhimento”, orienta a coordenadora do CVSA, Clara Scarpati Alvarenga.

Servidores da unidade de saúde de Jardim da Penha irão às ruas orientar os moradores para que recebam as equipes de campo e também conscientizá-los da importância da imunização dos animais. Durante a ação, os agentes farão busca ativa de casos de agressão por morcegos na área de foco.

Vacinação

A vacinação de cães e gatos contra a raiva é a principal medida de prevenção da doença e deve ser feita todo o ano. A vacina é gratuita e está disponível no Centro de Vigilância em Saúde Ambiental (CVSA), na Rua São Sebastião, s/º, Resistência.  O telefone do Centro é telefone 3324-5864.

A raiva é uma doença grave e letal em quase 100% dos casos e pode ser transmitida pela saliva de animais infectados, por meio de mordedura, arranhadura e lambedura.
