Hucam faz mutirão de exames contra câncer no intestino

O Hospital Universitário Cassiano Antônio Moraes (Hucam) montou uma força-tarefa para realizar 100 colonoscopias no Centro Cirúrgico. Os procedimentos serão realizados nos nestas quarta (17) e quinta (18) durante o 10º Mutirão para a Prevenção do Câncer Colorretal, doença que, segundo projeções do Instituto Nacional do Câncer (Inca), vai atingir 34 mil novos pacientes apenas neste ano no Brasil.

Os pacientes beneficiados foram pré-selecionados, todos na faixa etária entre 50 e 75 anos. Serão utilizados equipamentos endoscópicos de última geração no Centro Cirúrgico do Hucam para esses atendimentos. A força-tarefa é promovida pela Sociedade Brasileira de Endoscopia Digestiva (Sobed). O exame de colonoscopia é um importante método de prevenção deste tipo de tumor. De acordo com o chefe do Serviço de Endoscopia Digestiva do Hucam, Esteban Sadovsky, o procedimento, que permite captar imagens do interior do intestino, deve ser realizado a partir dos 50 anos de idade em intervalos que variam entre 5 e 10 anos.

“Existem vários esquemas de rastreio do tumor que usam a colonoscopia, que variam de paciente para paciente. Uma vantagem do exame é que, durante o procedimento, pólipos simples podem ser detectados e retirados”, explica o médico.

O mutirão – que envolverá 20 especialistas de todo o País, inclusive do Hucam, e outros 10 anestesistas –  será oportunidade de aprendizado para residentes do hospital. A força-tarefa ocorrerá em paralelo ao XI Simpósio Internacional de Endoscopoia Digestiva da Sobed, que ocorre em Vitória entre quinta (18) e sábado (20).

Entre os diversos tipos de câncer, o que acomete o intestino é o terceiro mais frequente entre homens e o segundo mais comum entre as mulheres brasileiras.

Palestras

Ainda no Hucam, nos dias 17 e 18, o especialista Lix Alfredo Reis de Oliveira vai falar sobre a prevenção do câncer no intestino em palestra aberta ao público, sempre às 10h, no auditório Professor Carlos Sandoval Gonçalves (3º andar) do prédio principal. A sala dispõe de 40 lugares e a ocupação se dará por ordem de chegada.

Prevenção

Sadovsky explica que, além dos exames preventivos, hábitos saudáveis contribuem para evitar a doença. Ele lista alguns:

– Dieta rica em fibras

– Evitar obesidade

– Combater o sedentarismo

– Evitar consumo abusivo de álcool e cortar o tabagismo

– Evitar o consumo excessivo de carne vermelha

Dentro das atividades do Simpósio, o Hucam também se faz presente ao sediar a Oficina de Balão Gástrico, técnica usada para redução de peso em obesos graves, no dia 18.
