O horário de verão termina no Brasil à meia-noite deste sábado (20) para domingo (21). Os relógios deverão ser atrasados em uma hora no Distrito Federal e em dez estados.
A medida teve início no dia 18 de outubro de 2015. Pela legislação, prevista no decreto nº 6 558/2008, o horário de verão vigora nas regiões Sul, Sudeste e Centro-Oeste.
Tiveram mudança de horário os estados do Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, além do Distrito Federal.
O decreto fixa a duração de quatro meses, a partir de 0h do terceiro domingo do mês de outubro de cada ano, até zero hora do terceiro domingo de fevereiro do ano seguinte, em parte do país.
O horário de verão é mais eficaz nos estados mais distantes da Linha do Equador, onde há uma diferença significativa na luminosidade durante a estação. Por isso, a medida não é mais aplicada nas regiões Norte e Nordeste.
De acordo com o Ministério de Minas e Energia (MME), a mudança de horário reduzirá a demanda em aproximadamente 2.610 megawatts (MW).
