Essa é a proposta da exposição “Torções”, do artista Luciano Feijão, que será aberta no próximo dia 15 de setembro, às 19 horas, no Museu Capixaba do Negro “Verônica da Paz” – Mucane, no Centro de Vitória.lucianao-feijao-gvnews

A mostra, contemplada pelo primeiro Edital de Ocupação do Mucane (2015), apresenta 30 desenhos exclusivos, produzidos em carvão, cortes de estilete e guache sobre papel em diferentes formatos, com a proposta de construir imagens em que o conceito de “torção” — visto a princípio dentro de um desenvolvimento estético — se apresente também como força política afirmativa, opondo-se à ideia de objetificação do negro, que naturaliza e colabora para a construção de uma subjetividade racista.

“Esse conjunto de desenhos propõe torções progressivas a partir da transfiguração da imagem de um suposto escravo, distante, neste momento, de sua condição objetiva e meramente inteligível. A obra é o próprio corpo da liberdade irremovível”, diz o artista.

Em “Torções”, Feijão amplia sua produção acadêmica, alinhando sua pesquisa de mestrado à sua prática em desenho. Entre as descobertas resultantes, está o anúncio de jornal de Cachoeiro do Itapemirim-ES, intitulado “O Cachoeirano”, do fim do séc. XIX, que relata as características de um escravo fujão que se dizia “livre”.

É exatamente essa torção do indivíduo escravo / livre que dá início à produção das obras. Paralelo a esses estudos, também é possível perceber que o corpo é um tema recorrente na produção artística de Feijão: corpo que se apresenta ativo, vigoroso e detalhado numa riqueza quase cartográfica, onde é percebido como espaço de percurso e memória.

Processo

Além dos trabalhos, o público poderá complementar a visitação conhecendo o processo criativo de Luciano Feijão, onde, em uma sala específica, será exibido um vídeo com o registro do artista em seu ateliê, apresentando, também, os materiais e as técnicas por ele utilizadas. Ao longo do período expositivo, serão realizadas atividades de Arte Educação, como rodas de conversas e oficinas.

Sobre Luciano Feijão

Artista, professor e ilustrador, Luciano Feijão é mestre em Artes pela Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (2014), onde atuou como docente das disciplinas de Desenho nos anos 2008 – 2009 e 2014 – 2016. Atualmente coordena o Nupie – Núcleo de Pesquisa em Ilustração Editorial, é integrante do PLACE – Plano Conjunto de Espacialidades (UFES) e foi membro fundador do grupo Célula de Gravura (2011). Participou de exposições e coletivas com desenhos e gravuras em Vitória (ES), São Paulo (SP), Los Angeles (EUA) e Cidade do México (MEX).

Ilustra profissionalmente para livros, jornais e revistas desde 2003. Dentre os trabalhos realizados, destacam-se aqueles produzidos para as editoras Record e Abril, para os jornais Folha de São Paulo e Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil e também para a Revista Gráfica – Arte Internacional.
