A Dinamarca expulsou um ótimo estudante universitário estrangeiro por trabalhar por mais horas que havia sido autorizado, lamentou neste sábado a Universidade de Aarhus.
Marius Youbi, um estudante de Engenharia de 30 anos, retornou para Camarões na quinta-feira, depois de ter recebido uma ordem de expulsão que exigia a sua saída da Dinamarca até sexta-feira.
A política de imigração do país escandinavo é uma das mais rígidas da Europa. Copenhague endureceu ainda mais as regras nos últimos meses, ante o importante fluxo de refugiados.
Youbi, que trabalhava em tempo parcial como faxineiro para pagar os estudos, excedeu em um determinado momento as 15 horas de trabalho semanais a que havia sido autorizado.
“Discordamos desta decisão do serviço de imigração dinamarquês”, afirmou o porta-voz da Universidade de Aarhus, Anders Correll, à AFP
O reitor da universidade enviou uma carta ao serviço de imigração em 23 de dezembro com uma solicitação de nova análise do caso de Youbi, mas não recebeu resposta, segundo Correll.
“Marius Youbi é um dos estudantes com maior talento que temos”, escreveu o reitor Brian Bech Nielsen na carta.
O porta-voz da imigração, Jesper Wodschow Larsen, disse à AFP que a decisão foi tomada “de acordo com as regras vigentes”.
