Brasil defende na ONU língua portuguesa e direitos de afrodescendentes

A ministra de Direitos Humanos do Brasil, Luislinda Valois, discursou  na 34ª sessão do Conselho de Direitos Humanos das Nações Unidas, em Genebra, na Suíça, defendendo a língua portuguesa e os direitos dos afrodescendentes. As informações são da ONU News, em Nova York.

“Inicialmente, cuidemos e mantenhamos a língua portuguesa. Ela também é universal” disse a ministra, numa apresentação de cerca de 12 minutos. A chefe da pasta de Direitos Humanos comentou sobre o combate à corrupção que está sendo feito pelo Brasil e o enfrentamento ao desemprego e à crise no sistema prisional. E disse que o país “está de volta” ao cenário internacional e tem robustez nas suas instituições.

“Temos enfrentado, de forma diligente, consciente, a crise no sistema prisional, a criminalidade e a violência urbana, o desemprego aviltante e a pior recessão de que se tem memória. Estamos recolocando o Brasil nos trilhos,” falou.

A ministra pediu aos 47 membros do Conselho de Direitos Humanos que avancem com uma Declaração dos Direitos dos Afrodescendentes. “Não vislumbramos um futuro para a globalização sem a liberdade de não ser discriminado por sua origem (…) ou por preconceito de qualquer outra natureza. Por isso, temos defendido que se inicie, o quanto antes, as negociações para a Declaração das Nações Unidas sobre os Direitos dos Afrodescendentes.”

De acordo com a ministra brasileira, deve haver ainda liberdade de religião, de credos e convicções.

Luislinda encerrou o discurso citando o presidente brasileiro, Michel Temer, na Assembleia Geral da ONU, em setembro, quando ele defendeu a educação de todos em matérias de direitos humanos para “promover um ambiente de respeito e dignidade”.

Ela lembrou ainda dos direitos de crianças, povos indígenas, negros e das pessoas com deficiência. Desembargadora aposentada, a ministra é considerada a primeira juíza negra do Brasil.
