Vila Velha: igualdade racial será tema de encontro neste domingo (26)

Repórter Capixaba Espírito Santo, Grande Vitória 268

O secretário especial de Políticas de Promoção da Igualdade Racial do Governo Federal (Seppir), Juvenal Araújo Junior, estará em Vila Velha neste domingo (26), para participar de uma roda de conversa com representantes de movimentos sociais da cidade. O evento será realizado no Centro de Capacitação e Complementação (Titanic), que fica na Praça Duque de Caxias, Centro, e conta com apoio da Subsecretaria Municipal de Cultura.

Juvenal Araújo está visitando vários estados e municípios na criação ou fortalecimento de órgãos e conselhos de promoção da igualdade racial e sua adesão ao Sistema Nacional de Promoção da Igualdade Racial (Sinapir). Às 13 horas haverá uma apresentação cultural do grupo Afoxé Oba Ayo.

O subsecretario municipal de Cultura, Eliomar Mazoco, ressalta a importância da visita, também para o aspecto cultural. “A igualdade racial deve ser atingida por meio da promoção do encontro fraterno das culturas e etnias. Mais do que tolerância, tem de haver a convivência e o congraçamento dos valores, e isso pode ser conseguido por meio das ações culturais”, concluiu.
