Projetos das barragens no interior são apresentados à população

A Secretaria da Agricultura apresentou nesta sexta (28) os projetos das barragens que serão construídas em Braço do Rio, localizado em Conceição da Barra, e Pedro Canário, em parceria com a iniciativa privada.

Mais de 300 pessoas participaram das apresentações nos dois municípios. Na apresentação da barragem que será construída em Braço do Rio, o secretário da Agricultura, Octaciano Neto, explicou que o projeto e parte da área foram doados pela Alcon. O reservatório que ficará localizado na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Itaúnas e vai armazenar água do Rio Preto do Norte, terá capacidade de armazenar 2,5 bilhões de litros de água com 104 hectares de área alagada. O suficiente para abastecer os 13 mil moradores de Braço do Rio por sete anos. Além desta, outras duas em assentamentos rurais serão construídas na cidade.

Já a barragem em Pedro Canário, o projeto foi contratado pela Placas do Brasil S/A. Ela ficará localizada às margens da BR 101, na comunidade de Polonesa, em Pinheiros, no córrego samambaia. Serão 1 bilhão de litros de água em 27,5 hectares. A quantidade é suficiente para abastecer a cidade por um ano.

Octaciano destacou que as obras deverão se iniciar em um prazo de oito meses, tempo para realizar o licenciamento ambiental e licitação. “É mais uma etapa do Programa Estadual de Construção de Barragens que está sendo realizada com a parceria com a Alcon e a Placas do Brasil, que doaram o projeto e área, assim como moradores que doaram parte do terreno. As duas regiões sofrem com a estiagem e as barragens vem para garantir o abastecimento e não ser mais necessário ser feito o racionamento de água. Os reservatórios são de múltiplo uso e servirão para atender a cidade, os produtores rurais, as indústrias que geram emprego para região e resolver de vez o problema”, disse.

O prefeito de Conceição da Barra destacou que a barragem de Braço do Rio e as duas em assentamentos rurais vão regularizar o uso da água no município. Já o prefeito de Pedro Canário, Bruno Araújo, agradeceu ao apoio do Governo para elaborar e executar a obra do reservatório na cidade.

O Programa Estadual de Construção de Barragens vai investir R$ 60 milhões até 2018 para a construção de 60 reservatórios de água em todo o Espírito Santo.
