Parque Estadual Pedra Azul volta a receber visitantes

O Parque Estadual Pedra Azul, volta a receber visitantes a partir deste sábado (19).  O parque, localizado em Domingos Martins, na região serrana, estava fechado desde o último dia 29 de agosto, em pedrazul-repcap consequência da maior crise hídrica do Estado nos últimos 80 anos. Uma das preocupações durante esse período foi em relação aos focos de incêndios, comuns em períodos de seca e ventos fortes.

A estiagem prolongada provocou impactos de difícil recuperação nas trilhas, o que levou a medidas de intervenção por parte dos servidores do parque. Atualmente, continuam os trabalhos de contenção de erosões, drenagens, instalação de pontilhões e cobertura de raízes expostas. O local tem formação rochosa, com camadas muito finas de solo e mais propenso à erosão. Diante desse cenário, os visitantes não poderão, no momento, utilizar as trilhas até que as intervenções estejam concluídas. O Iema informa que tais medidas visam atender melhor aos visitantes da Unidade de Conservação.

O parque, que funciona todos os dias, das 8h às 17h, é um dos locais públicos mais visitados do Espírito Santo, principalmente durante o inverno, com média de 1.200 visitantes/mês.parque_estadual_pedra_azul

O Pepaz é gerenciado pelo Instituto Estadual de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos (Iema). O atendimento ao público será retomado parcialmente graças à normalização do regime das chuvas. Os serviços administrativos e as estruturas de apoio do parque, que dependiam das nascentes para o abastecimento, voltam a ter condições de receber visitantes.

O parque tem uma área de 1.240 hectares. Já a Pedra Azul, que dá nome ao parque, é uma formação de granito e gnaisse de 1.822 metros de altura.

Curiosamente a ação de eventos naturais esculpiu parte da rocha em forma de lagarto. O parque possui uma trilha autoguiada na base da Pedra Azul, uma trilha que dá acesso às piscinas naturais e uma trilha para escalada (com o trabalho que está sendo realizado, este trecho está fechado no momento).

É recomendável que o visitante ligue antes para o parque, no número (27) 3248-1156, para checar se há disponibilidade para o trajeto, pois há limite para a visitação tendo em vista que se trata de terreno acidentado.
