A produção audiovisual com base na religião africana e na influência que ela exerce em seus fiéis. Essa é a proposta da mostra “Histórias Tribais”, que acontece entre estas quarta (23) e sexta (25), a partir das 18 horas, no Museu Capixaba do Negro (Mucane), no Centro, com entrada gratuita.
A organização é de Marcelo N. Reis, vencedor do edital de ocupação de premiação do Mucane, lançado em 2015. Ele explica que o projeto surgiu a partir da gravação do filme “Caminhos do Mar” e do interesse que ele percebeu em outros realizadores sobre o tema.
“O projeto ‘Histórias Tribais’ começou a partir de uma discussão de cineastas e realizadores audiovisuais negros, na qual percebemos que existiam poucas e até nenhuma exibição de trabalhos cinematográficos focados na cultura africana de terreiro”, explicou Marcelo.
Serão quatro curtas de quatro estados do Brasil: Caminhos do Mar (Espírito Santo); Malunguinho (Pernambuco); Égun: os mistérios do mar (Minas Gerais); e Oná (Rio de Janeiro). “Todos os curtas são histórias de ficção que têm tema dos orixás africanos como foco. Como existem no Brasil poucos trabalhos com esse foco específico, a ideia é incentivar que sejam feitos mais curtas como esses”.

Malunguinho, de Felipe Peres Calheiros
Malunguinho liderou o Quilombo do Catucá no século XIX. Apesar de ter sido morto em 1835, ainda hoje é cultuado pelos praticantes da Jurema Sagrada, religião de matriz indígena com influência africana do Nordeste do País.
Égun, de Helder Quiroga
Animação que busca estabelecer um diálogo entre a linguagem poética e o cinema. O filme conta a história de um pescador na busca por compreender os fatos que levaram à morte de seu pai, abordando a relação entre a condição sociocultural de moradores de uma comunidade litorânea e a tradição espiritual afrobrasileira do Candomblé. Vencedor do Prêmio Grande Otelo de Melhor Curta de Animação na 15ª Edição do Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro.

Um poeta realiza uma oferenda a Exu, mensageiro entre Orún (céu) e Aye (terra), a fim de libertar os caminhos da sua raça, que até hoje sofre com um preconceito físico e simbólico.
