A Secretaria de Estado da Saúde do Espírito Santo (Sesa) informou que entre 03 de janeiro e 18 de abril, que houve uma segunda morte confirmada pela gripe H1N1 no estado. Outras 11 mortes estão sendo investigadas. O estado registrou 117 notificações de Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave. Deste total, 17 casos de H1N1 foram confirmados por exames laboratoriais.
A Sesa disse que está atenta ao aumento do número de casos de infecção por influenza no país e vem monitorando os serviços de saúde locais. Informou ainda que emitirá boletins semanais sobre os casos.
A primeira morte confirmada de uma vítima da gripe H1N1 ocorreu em Colatina. A vítima era um homem de meia idade, morador de Governador Lindenberg, sem histórico de doenças crônicas. Não fazia parte do grupo de risco. Ele estava internado no Hospital Silvio Avidos, na cidade.

153 pessoas já morreram no país vítimas do H1N1, a maioria em São Paulo. Em uma semana, o número de mortes provocadas pelo vírus subiu 50%, segundo dados do Ministério da Saúde. No mesmo período, os casos da doença pularam de 686 para 1.012, um aumento de 47%.

Tanto a Influenza A (H1N1) quanto a Influenza Sazonal (gripe comum) são causadas por subtipos do vírus Influenza. Os sintomas são os mesmos: febre, tosse, dor de garganta, dor no corpo e mal estar, caracterizando uma síndrome gripal. Quando o paciente apresentar estes sintomas e estiver com dificuldade para respirar, a orientação é procurar um serviço médico.
Prevenção
– Lavar sempre as mãos com água e sabão;
– Evitar colocar as mãos no rosto, em especial na boca e no nariz;
– Ao tossir ou espirrar cobrir o nariz e a boca com lenço de papel.
