É um acidente tão comum que recebeu o nome acima: dooring (de porta em inglês). A culpa é sempre do motorista ou do passageiro que não prestaram atenção antes de abrir a porta do veículo.

Mas há um truque simples que pode você evitar que motoristas e passageiros machuquem ciclistas: a melhor maneira de evitar esse tipo de acidente é abrir a porta do carro cruzando o seu corpo com a mão que está mais longe da porta. Você deve fazer isso independentemente se você está sentado no banco da frente ou no traseiro.
