1º Virada Cultural Quilombola do Estado neste fim de semana em São Mateus

Jongo, reis de boi, samba de roda, ladainha para São Sebastião, comidas típicas, artesanato, oficinas, cavalgada, além de dinâmicas e atividades artísticas. É o que promete a 1º Virada Cultural Quilombola do Espírito Santo, neste fim de semana, dias 09 e 10 de julho, na comunidade Quilombola de Divino Espírito Santo, zona rural de São Mateus. Serão 36 horas seguidas de programação. Uma ótima oportunidade de enfatizar ao grande público a força das manifestações culturais das comunidades quilombolas do Estado.

De acordo com a organizadora, Kátia Santos, serão dois dias de intensas atividades que vão abranger todo um leque de tradições culturais, de todo o território capixaba. “Pretendemos unir identidade étnica, ancestralidade, musicalidade, realizar oficinas, ladainha, com muito beiju, um grande turbantaço como símbolo de resistência da mulher negra e emponderamento das mulheres quilombolas e de territorialidade”, destacou Kátia. O evento foi contemplado pelo EDITAL Nº 002/2015 – Seleção de Projetos de Valorização da Diversidade Cultural Capixaba da Secretaria de Estado da Cultura (Secult).

O que são Quilombos

As comunidades quilombolas são grupos étnicos – predominantemente constituídos pela população negra rural ou urbana –, que se autodefinem a partir das relações específicas com a terra, o parentesco, o território, a ancestralidade, as tradições e práticas culturais próprias. Estima-se que em todo o País existam mais de cinco mil comunidades quilombolas. As terras ocupadas por quilombolas são aquelas utilizadas para a garantia de sua reprodução física, social, econômica e cultural. Como parte de uma reparação histórica, a política de regularização fundiária de Territórios Quilombolas é de suma importância para a dignidade e a garantia da continuidade desses grupos étnicos.

A palavra “quilombo” tem origem nos termos “kilombo” (Quimbundo) e “ochilombo” (Umbundo), estando presente também em outras línguas faladas ainda hoje por diversos povos Bantus.

Divino Espírito Santo

Parte do Território do Sapê do Norte, no município de São Mateus, a comunidade de Divino Espírito Santo é composta pelos córregos Rio Preto, Grande, da Tábua, Santa Rita e Santa Luzia. O local tem a tradição das casas de farinha e da agricultura familiar, em que a mandioca é utilizada para o sustento e para o desenvolvimento econômico e social de muitas famílias.

A comunidade mantém a cultura popular por meio de ladainhas, reis de boi, cavalgada, entre outras manifestações culturais, cuidando do território, preservando o meio ambiente e a ancestralidade.
